Unwanted dark and multi-colored tattoos can be safely and effectively eliminated with our Tattoo Laser treatment. High-intensity light beams create a photo acoustic shock wave that breaks up the ink particles in the tattoo. The result after a number of sessions reveals clear, ink-free skin with minimal risk of scarring or hypo-pigmentation. Successful multi-color tattoo removal requires a high powered laser that can deliver enough energy within the absorption spectrum of a wide range of colors. The high power Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064nm laser is ideal for treating darker ink colors (black, blue and green), while the 532nm wavelength is effective for brighter ink colors (red, orange and yellow). The treatment mechanically breaks down ink particles without causing thermal damage. In time, the body’s lymphatic system disposes of the ink fragments. This natural healing process causes the tattoo to fade with minimal risk of scarring or discoloration. Q. How do I get started? First, you'll schedule a consultation with a trained professional, who can evaluate your tattoo and advise you on the process. The number of treatments you will need will depend on the age, size, and color(s) of your tattoo. The color of your skin, as well as how deep the tattoo pigment goes, will also affect the removal technique. Q. What are some of the side effects? Laser treatment is often safer than many other tattoo removal methods and there are very few side effects. However, you should consider these factors in your decision: -In many cases, certain colors may be more effectively removed than others. Blue and black tattoos, for example, respond well to laser treatment. -You may end up with hypopigmentation, which means the skin that is treated is paler than the skin surrounding it. Q. Will it hurt when you remove my tattoo? Depending on the location of your tattoo, you may want to apply a topical anesthesia cream before your treatment. Some clients are fine having it removed without any type of numbing cream, but if needed, we can give you some before your treatment. Immediately following the treatment, use an ice pack to soothe the treated area and apply an antibiotic cream or ointment and bandage to protect it. You should also be sure it’s covered with sunblock when you’re outside. We recommend 6-8 treatments, one month apart. Pricing varies between $150-$700 per treatment, depending on the size of the treatment.
